C-1 Shadow

The C-1 Shadow Chronograph is a first for Aera, with a 904L steel case finished in a black PVD coating. This treatment gives a deep matt black appearance and unparalleled surface hardness and the matching curved bezel features engraved markings and numerals in-filled with a gloss black lacquer. Protected by the domed sapphire crystal, the single-piece dial of the C-1 Shadow is also finished in matte black with white markings on the rehaut and twin recessed sub-dials. For low-light situations, the white tips of the sub-dial hands are in Swiss Super-LumiNova® Grade X1, which glows green. Grade X1 luminova is also applied to the black-framed sword hands to ensure crisp legibility. The AERA logo at 12, however, is machined from solid Globolight© for an arctic white glow, while the central chronograph seconds hand and matching register pointers are rendered in vivid red lacquer.

The beating mechanical heart of the C-1 is a Swiss-made Sellita SW510 BH b Bi-compax Elabore grade automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve. Setting the time or manual winding is done through the central screw-in crown flanked by the pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, the former to start and stop the chronograph’s stop-watch function indicated by the display’s main second hand, and the latter for reset.

The central chronograph seconds hand times to 1/5th of a second on the dished rehaut of the one-piece dial, while sub dials to right and left, are timed minutes and running seconds. Like all Aera watches, the C-1’s movement is protected by a flush-fitting, screw-in case back engraved with key specifications and its own unique serial number.

Included with the C-1 Shadow are two integrated straps in Black FKM Scuba Rubber and Orange Italian Pebble Grain Leather with PVD 904L buckles, both fully interchangeable with a simple 2-pin quick-release mechanism and a Black Pebble Grain Italian Leather watch pouch.
