P-1 Air Force

The P-1 Air Force is Aera’s contemporary expression of the pilot’s watch, shaped by aviation discipline, instrument clarity, and the distinctive grey-blue tone long associated with the Royal Air Force.

Built around the same principles as the original P-1 Pilot, it is stripped back, highly legible, and designed for life beyond the cockpit. The matte velvet grey-blue dial gives the watch a calm, precise character, whilst the large three-dimensional numerals, raised Aera logo, and clearly defined outer seconds track keep the display direct and easy to read.

In low light, the numerals and Aera logo, formed from 3D Tritec Swiss Super-LumiNova®, emit a vibrant orange glow, a colour rarely seen on contemporary pilot’s watches. White hour and minute hand frames are hand-filled with Grade X1 Swiss Super-LumiNova®, whilst the seconds hand features a luminous tip for added clarity after dark.
The 43mm case gives the P-1 Air Force the presence expected of a modern pilot’s watch, balanced by a refined case profile, curved lugs, and an integrated strap system designed to sit securely and comfortably on the wrist.

Aera’s signature one-piece dished dial curves upward beneath the domed sapphire crystal, creating the smooth, pebble-like silhouette that defines the P-1 collection. For this edition, the case shape has been subtly refined and the lugs carefully reworked to improve balance when worn with Aera’s integrated straps.

Inside is a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré-grade automatic movement with up to 41 hours of power reserve, selected for its reliability, precision, and long-term serviceability. Each watch is Swiss Made and hand assembled by skilled artisans before final testing and quality control.

The case, case back, and buckles are crafted from brushed 904L stainless steel, chosen for its superior corrosion resistance and deeper lustre compared to industry-standard 316L steel. More difficult to machine and finish, 904L gives the watch the durability and character expected of a mechanical instrument built for regular use.

A screw-down crown and 100m water resistance add everyday robustness, whilst the updated six-screw case back gives the watch a more utilitarian, industrial character.

All Aera watches come with have a two-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. You can easily extend the warranty for one additional year by visiting the Warranty page and registering your watch. We undertake to repair, free of charge, including shipping, any problem with the functions of the watch that result from defective manufacturing. If there is mechanical failure of the movement within the warranty period, rectification will include reseal and complementary refresh of the case.
