Aera x Firmship

An exercise in reduction, the Aera x Firmship P-1 Pilot is what happens when you strip everything back. It’s also the result of a decades-long friendship between the founders of both design houses.

Made from T-5 titanium, this special edition P-1 is our most minimal, pared back creation yet. It has the same case shape and form as our regular P-1 Pilot, but everything has been stripped back to its core. It’s a collaboration that made perfect sense. 

Firmship, based in the Netherlands, started life building incredibly durable boats ‘stripped from all frills’. It now also makes a special edition, minimal looking Defender, painted in a robust metal lacquer usually reserved for bulldozers. The brand’s no nonsense approach and desire to create functional, durable, lasting design mirrors everything Aera does. 

The P-1 Firmship is the ultimate minimal take on a classic tool watch. The titanium case keeps it extremely light but durable, and with that signature shade of grey unique to the metal. Inside is an automatic Elabore grade Sellita SW200-1 movement, while the sweeping dished dial is finished in Firmship Grey, matching the Defender’s tonal interior. The simple three-hand display is easy to read, with the hours, minutes hand and crown illuminated with hand-filled Super LumiNova®. Domed sapphire crystal glass proudly frames the subtly recessed Aera logo. 

Furthering the connection to both brands is the mahogany leather strap and matching second hand, which both borrow their shade from the wooden decking of the Firmship 55 boat. A further Battleship Grey rubber strap is included, that one inspired by the clean monochrome aesthetic of the Firmship Defender’s interior. 

The watch was originally included with the purchase of every Firmship Defender, and was designed to compliment the uniquely strong design of the car and Firmship aesthetic. We loved the partnership so much that there will be new editions launching in 2026, available to all of our Aera community.
